David Halstead

Formerly a CA in Public Practice in both Auckland, NZ and in Hong Kong

David has a wide range of corporate, secretarial and trusts experience, working with both offshore and onshore companies. Having graduated at the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Commerce and further qualifications in accounting and taxation, David became a partner in a medium sized Auckland accounting practice in 1973, specialising then in auditing and business services.

In 1984 he became a principal in the Hong Kong office of Coopers & Lybrand [now PWC] specializing in international corporate and secretarial services, offshore tax structures and China Foreign Joint Ventures which work included business plans, detailed feasibility studies and involvement with J/V contractual processes. He spent two years also in a senior managerial role with Sanofi Sante Nutrition Animal Spa in a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation in Jiangze Province, China.

Upon his return to Auckland in 1994, he established and operated, several integrated medical centres, a surgical hospital in Auckland and a state of the art diagnostic centre Beach Road, Auckland City. Since 2006, David has acted as a director, company secretary and treasurer for a group of international clients. including several Hong Kong and Singapore companies and a number of NZ entities.

Together with Steve Barnett, in 2012 David set up Business Epic Limited as a consultancy focusing on SME owners assisting them to maximise their business operational net worth. It is in this capacity that David, who is also a Director of H S Composites Ltd, brings value to the company.
