HS Composites has a wide range of materials and fabrics for your fibreglass needs.

Chopped Strand Mat

Chopped Strand Mat (CSM) is the most widely used composite reinforcement material. It easily conforms to mould shapes and has fast wet out properties. Chopped strands of glass fibre laid randomly and held together with a styrene soluble emulsion binder or soluble powder binder.
CSM E is perfect for use with Polyester Resins. The styrene in polyester resin breaks down the emulsion as the fibres wet out.
Powder bound is more suited to Vinyl-ester, Epoxy and corrosion resistant resins.
Available weights: 225 gsm, 300 gsm, 450 gsm and 600 gsm

Multiaxials

Range of multiaxial fabrics, many with a layer of chopped strand mat backing.
Rolls are 50kg and 1270mm wide. Rolls can also be cut into tapes.

Double Bias

Bias fabric is a two (2) layer fabric consisting of fibreglass roving laid down parallel in the -45° and + 45° axes. This fabric is used where complex contours and curved surfaces make other fabrics hard to laminate. It adds good structural support to square composite panels and provides stability in long laminates, which may experience torsional twist.

Biaxial

Biaxial fabric is a two (2) layer fabric consisting of fibreglass rovings laid down parallel in the 0° and 90° axes. The flat, crimp free nature of stitched fabrics provides improved directional modulus, strength and higher reinforcement content. A lighter laminate for stiffness requirement can be achieved. Available in full width rolls or tapes.

Triaxial

Triaxial E-glass fabric is a three (3) layer fabric consisting of fibreglass rovings laid down parallel in the -45°, + 45° and 0° or 90° axes. This fabric gives the builder the ability to control the amount of fibre concentration in the areas requiring it.
The 0°/90° fibres add strength across the laminate with the ±45° fibres adding additional cross bracing and torsional stability.

Quadaxial

Quadraxial fabric is a four (4) layer fabric consisting of fibreglass rovings laid down parallel in the 0°, -45°, +45° and 90° axes.
This fabric provides the ability to apply multiple layers simultaneously and adds excellent structural support and stiffness to the laminate.

Unidirectional

Unidirectional is a single layer fabric or tape consisting of fibre laid down in the 0° axes or Warp direction. This is used to add directional stability to structures in one specific direction. Available weights:
